Losing ideological battle

While going through yesterday's editorial of the Hindu I thought and thought until slumber carried me in a pensive mood. Ms. Banerjee, our honorable railway minister under a dangerous game plan

employed two strategies. One, she managed to invite and share with the dais with renowned persons like Sm. Patkar and Swami Agnivesh. Second, she was able to gather Maoists giving social acceptability to Lalgarh violence. She showed her multi masked face of a Gandhian as well as of a Maoist. It showed, she could go to any extent to achieve her goal. As a true Gandhian, she censures violence at one hand and on another occasion she appears in hand and glove with violence in any part of the West Bengal.

Her senior partner, the Congress knows this well trodden path for winning elections. It is the Congress that used to take help of criminals and muscle men to garner support. It is the party that laid foundation stone of criminalization of politics. Later on, following its path, criminals themselves fought and won election and got party tickets for their better winning prospect. That is why, the party could not take a clear stand on many issues. With ninety three thousand war prisoners Indira Gandhi failed miserably on negotiation table without resolving the Kashmir issue for good.

The masked face of left parties is exposed when they failed to establish cadre rule in West Bengal. For their policies, their bases could not extend beyond West Bengal, Tripura and Kerala. They fight election, take oath in the name of the Constitution but has no faith in the system that it provides.

Our intelligentsia, dominated by left ideology never remain categorical on the issue of political violence. As this elite group enjoy the benefit of having best reasoning, they plead in support of human blood of Maoists but not the blood spilled of the law abiding people or government servants specially of paramilitary forces.

All the groups, discussed above, forget that like between devil and deep sea India is fighting ideological battles on two fronts namely Maoist and Islamic extremism. Ideological battle can only won by inculcating a sense of extreme nationalism to the extent of chauvinism. Every citizen should be trained to sacrifice his life and all to save the nation. Leaders should set live examples of their sacrifices.

India levels series against Sri Lanka

Mr.M.S.Dhoni and his company deserves our heartiest congratulations for levelling the series in odd circumstances as they were not given ample time to aclimatize or practice in a new situation. To add to their woes, the host did not show sportsman spirit as they batted the whole second innings not giving India feel the newly laid pitch.
Second, three main players, Yuvraj, Gautam and Harbhajan were declared unfit. Zaheer's replacement Sree Sant was also sent back adding another name in the injury list.
Third, rain marred the day and inclement weather made the batting difficult. So, Dhoni's reputation of not losing a test match was at stake. Under the circumstances, he regrouped his team and managed a draw in the second reminding the host his team is No. One in the ranking. As a result, in the third test such a facile victory did not come as surprise. Many pundits reading 53 /3 felt critical but without looking through the value of the wickets. The first four wickets were of Sehwag (most prized one), Vijay, out of form Dravid (Who could not score even a half century), and night wathman Sharma.
Tendulkar and Lakshman showed their class and facilitated India to win the test easily. The debutant Raina maintained his style and form. Bowlers woke up from their slumber and showed the way of regaining form and confidence. The fielding was also not bad as not a single catch was dropped nor a chance was missed.
One weakness of Indian side again surfaced that her bowlers failed to get tailenders out quickly and allowed Mendis to score 78. To sum up, the match was played in friendly spirit without any controversy. The standard of umpiring was more or less flawless. Every one may expect such exciting matches to enhance the popularity of test matches.

Explosion of our national population

In recent future, if uncontrolled, we are going outnumber China in population or human resources.

Several schemes with incentive have been launched without optimum results. For argument sake, illiteracy, poverty, lack of national awareness and a sense of nationalism are some of the reasons for the failure of this plan. The policy makers, knowingly or unwittingly failed to see through the psyche of two largest religious groups namely Hindus and Muslims. Both these groups feel a sense of insecurity, fear of being out numbered, losing their further dominance and so on.

It is interesting to note that hard liners in both the group protest family planning. Hindus argue that only academically, culturally and socially advanced groups adopt family planning schemes. However, the advanced group refrain from adopting population control methods. Consequently, the Hindu society will turn into a group of uncivilized, uncultured and illiterate groups. They also remember how Fiji with fifty two Hindu population became subordinate citizens when Christianity was declared state religion. In the same way, Pakistan and later Bangladesh won freedom as secular and democratic nations but in a few years both were declared autocratic Islamic states. So, the Hindus fear one day Muslims will become equal to Hindus and demand for

Islamic rules. To add to their worries, Maulanas, Muftis and Imams categorically state family planning is against the wishes of Allah who graces His followers with off springs. Though, in some Muslim countries state sponsored family planning schemes are welcomed by general masses. This strange behavior of Muslims raises suspicion in the mind of ever suspicious hardliners among Hindus.

Social scientists see through the problem from different angle. National interest is of little interest for them. Right activists, too, leave it to individual discretion. For these groups, population is not a problem rather it becomes so when states fail to manage or utilize human resources. Leftists think that over population will cause scarcity that will result in class war and help spread communism.

These ideological differences particularly in India have caused failure of family planning schemes. In China, being governed by different political system, the plan became almost fully successful. On the contrary, in democratic set up it is difficult to strict measures. We can pray for dawning nationalism in every Indian mind.

Great loss for meagre gain

The parliament session resumed due after sacrificing a great amount of time and money from the public fund. It was unnecessary exercise to draw public attention that which party can make louder voice for the public cause halfhearted though. The louder the voice,the greater the leader is in the eyes of public.
A person conscious of his/her democratic rights and duties with even a vague idea of functioning of parliamentry system of democracy knows well no party wants the government to be toppled. As a matter of fact, no body is interested in people's or the financial losses incurred for nonfunctioning of parliament. The ruling and opposition reached at an agreement point that could have been reached earlier without wasting lacks or crores of rupees.
As facts reflect, every party wants votes and become a well wisher of public. At the same time, All want money to fight an election or manage a party affair or some times for horse trading in critical situations.
That is why, the demonstrated a vehement and ferocious fight in the eyes of the public knowing full well the fruitless outcome of this agitation. If this is the trend of the Indian democracy only God can save India from disintegration.
